Celladhesionsmolekyler, neuron-glia
Vidhäftningsmolekyler som får nervceller att fästa vid varandra och vid astrocyter. De uttrycks på nervceller och Schwannceller, men inte på astrocyter, och de är involverade i nervcellers förflyttnin g, nervcellsfascikulationer och utväxt. Ng-CAM skiljer sig immunologiskt och strukturellt från NCAM (neurala celladhesionsmolykyler).

Cell adhesion molecules that mediate neuron-neuron adhesion and neuron-astrocyte adhesion. They are expressed on neurons and Schwann cells, but not astrocytes and are involved in neuronal migration, neurite fasciculation, and outgrowth. Ng-CAM is immunologically and structurally distinct from NCAM.
