Desulfurococcaceae
En familj inom Thermoproteales, bestående av anaeroba kocker, som fakultativt utnyttjar peptider, proteiner eller kolhydrater genom svavelomsättning eller jäsning. Det finns fyra släkten: Desulfurococcus, Pyrodictium, Staphylothermus och Thermodiscus.

A family of archaea, in the order DESULFUROCOCCALES, consisting of anaerobic cocci which utilize peptides, proteins or carbohydrates facultatively by sulfur respiration or fermentation.
