Humant tillväxthormon
Ett peptidhormon med 191 aminosyror som utsöndras av människans adenohypofys. Hormonet kallas även GH eller somatotropin. Ett syntetiskt tillväxthormon, somatropin, har kommit att ersätta den naturliga formen som terapeutiskt preparat vid behandling av t ex dvärgväxt hos barn med tillväxthormonbrist.

A 191-amino acid polypeptide hormone secreted by the human adenohypophysis (PITUITARY GLAND, ANTERIOR), also known as GH or somatotropin. Synthetic growth hormone, termed somatropin, has replaced the natural form in therapeutic usage such as treatment of dwarfism in children with growth hormone deficiency.
