Jejunoileal-bypass
Kirurgiskt anlagd anastomos (konstgjord förbindelse) mellan den övre delen av jejunum och den nedre delen av ileum på tunntarmen för att skapa en förbigång av den näringsupptagande delen av tunntarmen. På grund av risken för svår undernäring och livshotande ämnesomsättningskomplikationer används inte längre denna metod för behandling av sjuklig fetma.

A procedure consisting of the SURGICAL ANASTOMOSIS of the proximal part of the JEJUNUM to the distal portion of the ILEUM, so as to bypass the nutrient-absorptive segment of the SMALL INTESTINE. Due to the severe malnutrition and life-threatening metabolic complications, this method is no longer used to treat MORBID OBESITY.
