Patologisk bendemineralisering
Minskning eller förlust av mineralbeståndet i skelettets ben. Tillfällig förlust av benmineral är särskilt förknippad med rymdvistelse, viktlöshet och långvarig orörlighet. Osteoporos är ett permanent tillstånd med minskning av den totala benmassan och ökad risk för frakturer. Fysiologisk förkalkning är en process som innebär remineralisering av skelettet.
